Lifesavers 2006

From this icon of American popular culture, the candy known as “Lifesavers” the artist transports us to another context. These candies, normally inscribed with the word – lifesavers, have been altered by Quiroz, who has replacd the text with the word – misery. For Quiroz,  this is represents an allegory of civilization and the inherent contradictions  that are generated by its own development , such as overpopulation.
